INESC-ID
INESC-ID is a research institute dedicated to advanced research and development in the areas of Electronics, Communications, and Information Technologies.
INESC-ID was created in 2000, as a result of the reorganization of the R&D activities of its parent institution, INESC, in Lisbon.
INESC-ID is a not for profit, privately owned institution, declared officially of public interest. It is owned 51% by IST – Instituto Superior Técnico – and 49% by INESC – Instituto de Engenharia de Sistemas e Computadores. The institution was also awarded the status of “Laboratório Associado” in December 2004, of the Portuguese Ministry of Science, Technology and Higher Education.
INESC-ID is also an associate of two other R&D institutes that originated from the reorganization of INESC. These are INOV – INESC Inovação – and INESC MN – INESC Microelectrónica e Nanotecnologias.
We invite you to make a brief journey through the celebration of INESC-ID 10th anniversary, that occurred in the end of 2010 here. For the important celebration, INESC-ID promoted a serie of discussion sessions on science, research and innovation. National and international renowned researchers discussed some of the biggest challenges in the next decade. A challenging event with an outstanding quality, that took place at Culturgest and Instituto Superior Técnico.
