Researcher in Computation applied to Architecture, Urbanism and Design at the Faculty of Architecture of the University of Lisbon.
Daniel Mateus has a degree in pre–Bologna Architecture, Higher Technical Institute (IST), Technical University of Lisbon in 2005.
Worked in Portugal and Angola between 2006 and 2011, participating in the elaboration of Projects of Architecture and Urbanism.
In 2013 started the PhD in Architecture, Specialization in Computation, at the Faculty of Architecture of the University of Lisbon.
His research interests relate to the application of Computation in Architecture, Urbanism and Design, including generative design systems (parametric modeling, procedural modeling, shape grammars) programming and digital manufacturing. Looking to fit these computational instruments in the theme of Energy, elaborating more efficient forms and materials from the standpoint of its energy performance.
